instructions for enabling JavaScript in most browsers

This website uses JavaScript for navigation and JavaScript must enabled in your browser. You can do this through the browser's properties function. If your browser is not listed below, use the keywords "enable javascript" and the name of your browser to locate instructions on the Internet.

To determine the version number of your browser, select the Help menu, then About yourbrowsername where it shows the name of your browser. For most browsers, after enabling JavaScript you can reload the web page without restarting the browser for the change to take effect.


Internet Explorer 5.x - 7.x
(Note: To allow scripting on this website only and leave it disabled
in the Internet zone, add this website to the Trusted sites zone.)
  1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab. The Internet zone is selected.
  3. Click on the Custom Level button.
  4. Scroll down to locate Scripting and Active Scripting below it.
  5. Under Active Scripting, check the Enable button.
  6. Click on the OK button to exit from the Security Settings dialog box.
  7. If asked "Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone.", click "Yes" or "OK".
  8. Click on the OK button to exit from the Internet Options dialog box.
  9. Click Refresh or Reload to redisplay the web page.
Internet Explorer 5.x for Mac OS 9 & X
  1. From the Explorer menu (Preferences menu for Mac OS 9), select Preferences.
  2. Click on the arrow next to Web Browser.
  3. Select Web Content.
  4. Under Active Content, check Enable Scripting.
  5. Click on the OK button to exit.
  6. Click Refresh.
Internet Explorer 4.x
  1. From the View menu, select Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Select Custom.
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Scroll down to locate Scripting.
  6. Select Enable for Active Scripting.
  7. Click on the OK button to exit.
  8. Click Reload.
Internet Explorer 3.x
  1. From the View menu, select Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Select Enable Java Programs.
  4. Select Run ActiveX scripts.
  5. Click on the OK button to exit.
  6. Click Reload.

AOL 9.x
  1. From the Settings menu, select Internet [Web] Options.
  2. In the Browser Settings dialog box under "Related Settings", select Internet Exporer settings.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Click on the Custom Level button.
  5. Scroll down to locate Scripting and Active Scripting below it.
  6. Under Active Scripting, check the Enable button.
  7. Click on the OK button to exit to exit the Security Settings Internet Zone dialog box.
  8. Click on the OK button to exit the Internet Properties dialog box.
  9. Close the Browser Settings window.
  10. Close the Computer Help - AOL Help 9.1 Settings window.
  11. Click Reload.
AOL 7.x - 8.x
  1. From the Settings menu, select Preferences.
  2. Under Organization, select Internet Properties (WWW).
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Click on the Custom Level button.
  5. Scroll down to locate Scripting and Active Scripting below it.
  6. Under Active Scripting, check the Enable button.
  7. Click on the OK button to exit to exit the Security Settings Internet Zone dialog box.
  8. Click on the OK button to exit the Internet Properties dialog box.
  9. Close the Preferences window.
  10. Click Reload.
AOL 4.x - 5.x
  1. From My AOL, select Preferences.
  2. Select the WWW icon.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Click on the Custom Level button.
  5. Select Settings.
  6. Scroll down to locate Scripting and Active Scripting below it.
  7. Under Active Scripting, check the Enable button.
  8. Click on the OK button to exit to exit.
  9. Close the Preferences window.
  10. Click Reload.

Un AOL 4.x and 5.x, to prevent AOL's compressed graphics from preventing Java: AOL 3.x
  1. From My AOL, select Prefs.
  2. Select Security.
  3. Check Enable Java Programs.
  4. Click on the OK button to exit to exit.
  5. Close the Prefs window.
  6. Click Reload.

Firefox 0.x - 3.x
  1. From the Tools menu, select Options.
  2. Select the Content tab (or the Web Features button.)
  3. Check the "Enable JavaScript" check box.
  4. Click on the OK button to exit from the Options dialog box.
  5. Click Reload.

Mozilla 1.x
  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences .
  2. Select the arrow next to Advanced.
  3. Select Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Under "Enable Javascript for", check Navigator.
  5. Click on the OK button to exit.
  6. Click Reload.

Netscape 7.x
  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click the arrow next to Advanced.
  3. Select Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Under "Enable Javascript for", check Navigator.
  5. Click on the OK button to exit.
  6. Click Reload.
Netscape 6.x
  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Check Enable JavaScript for Navigator.
  4. Click on the OK button to exit.
  5. Click Reload.

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Check Enable Java.
  4. Check Enable JavaScript.
  5. Check Enable style sheets.
  6. Click on the OK button to exit.
  7. Click Reload.

  1. From the Edit menu, select Options.
  2. Select Network Preferences.
  3. Select Languages.
  4. Check Enable Java.
  5. Check Enable JavaScript.
  6. Check Enable style sheets.
  7. Click on the OK button to exit.
  8. Click Reload.

Opera 8.x - 9.x
  1. From the Tools menu, select Preferences.
  2. Select the Advanced tab, then Content.
  3. Check the Enable JavaScript check box.
  4. Click on the OK button to exit.
  5. Click the Reload button.
Opera 5.x - 7.x
  1. From the File menu, select Quick Preferences.
  2. Check Enable JavaScript.
  3. Click Reload.

Safari for Mac OS X
  1. From the Safari menu, select Preferences.
  2. Select Security.
  3. Check Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
  4. Close the window.
  5. Click Reload.
